Itching on the testicles

Dear Sir or Madam,

For about a year, I have been experiencing a strong itching sensation on my testicles. The skin does not have any pimples or anything like that, but it is slightly irritated in some areas from scratching. When I scratch, the itching temporarily improves but then worsens. What could be causing this itching?

Which cream or prescription medication should I try?

I have already tried the following creams without much success:
Eucerin 10% Urea, Eucerin 12% Omega, Eubos 10% Urea, Imlan-Urea, Bephantenol Cream, Advocado B12 Cream (pink cream).

Good day,

Itching in the testicles is often caused by a fungus. In such a case, a fungal cream from the pharmacy can help. However, the duration of the symptoms does not necessarily indicate a fungus.

Another possibility could be itching without a specific trigger. In this case, a mild cortisone cream, hydrocortisone, would most likely help, which you can also buy over the counter at the pharmacy. However, treatment with cortisone cream in the intimate area should only be done on the advice of a doctor to avoid unwanted effects, even if you choose a mild cortisone cream.

The specialist who can provide you with the right advice in this case would be the dermatologist, possibly also the urologist, but primarily the dermatologist.

What you can try yourself is a moisturizing cream such as Bepanthen cream as a countermeasure to the various urea preparations you have used. Urea tans the skin and dries it out. It may be that your skin is just lacking fat and if you replace this, the skin will calm down again.

One can only assess and advise you properly with a visual examination. However, I hope that my preliminary assessment still helps you.

Kind regards,
