Foreign urine on the glans
October 31, 2010 | 20,00 EUR | answered by Dr. med. Ralf Berg
What is the risk of infection if, for example, someone pees on you or in your mouth? If the glans comes into contact with someone else's urine?
If so, what diseases would those be?
Please reply, I got carried away in a drunken stupor, and now I am very worried that I may have done something terribly wrong!
Thanks in advance!
Dear Inquirer,
You don't have to worry too much. The urine of a healthy person is usually germ-free, so sterile. Contact with foreign urine on skin or mucous membranes (oral cavity/glans) is without consequences from an infectious disease perspective.
In the presence of infected urine, urinary tract infection or gonorrhea (gonorrhea), infection is theoretically possible when in contact with mucous membranes. However, it is also the case that with a high number of germs, an infection can occur because many immune cells are present just on or under the mucous membranes, and they intercept pathogens.
So if the person is healthy and does not have a urinary tract infection, their activities while under the influence of alcohol will have no consequences. With this good news, I wish you a good and more peaceful night!
Best regards, Dr. R. C. Berg
