Post-liposuction high

Hello,
I drank a lot of alcohol and smoked the day after liposuction on my stomach and hips. Fortunately, I did not have any problems like bleeding or bruising. Can this one-time, excessive alcohol consumption negatively affect the final results of the surgery?
Regards
Dear Inquirer,
Actually, alcohol consumption the day after surgery does not really affect the surgical result. Unless you were drunk and bumped into the scars causing a stitch to come loose or similar. The drugs you received for the surgery are usually already cleared from your body, i.e. metabolized.
Smoking can theoretically lead to delayed wound healing if you continue to do so, thus worsening the surgical outcome.
Alcohol consumed in moderation usually does not worsen the surgical result either, but excessive consumption can weaken the immune system and impair wound healing.
Since the fat has been removed, it is now all about postoperative wound healing, which can be supported by a healthy lifestyle. However, this does not mean that every patient who drinks or smokes after surgery will automatically experience complications.
So, primarily, no need to worry. If anything does occur, do contact a surgeon. I believe you will have follow-up appointments for wound checks in the coming days, but from your description, it seems like there are no problems for now.
This response can only address the points you have mentioned and cannot replace a personal conversation or a medical examination.
I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart.
