Pulmonary embolism after liposuction

Hello,
I had liposuction done the day before yesterday (under twilight sedation). Now I am afraid that there could be a risk of a pulmonary embolism. How high is the risk and what signs would there be? How long after liposuction can a pulmonary embolism still occur - when can I breathe easy? I would like to have a small area treated with ultrasound fat reduction. Are there any disadvantages to starting shortly after liposuction or should I wait?

Liposuction does not directly lead to pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism occurs (in case of) through a blood clot in the (leg) veins that is washed into the lungs. The risk of such an event depends on whether you have a particular risk in the area of the veins. Other risk factors include obesity and smoking. Furthermore, the size and duration of the procedure, as well as certain intraoperative measures such as blood loss, play a role, but are not applicable in liposuction. If there are no varicose veins, family history of thrombosis, etc., the risk should be small and decrease day by day. The subsequent treatment with ultrasound also does not change this. It is also assumed that you would have received heparin injections if a special thrombosis risk had been recognized before the operation. What will definitely be good for you and would also be very important in case of a risk of thrombosis is to walk as often as possible, so walk briskly.

Kind regards
