Tongue

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have a problem with my tongue. Please see the photo. My tongue feels like it's burning and has looked like this for about half a year.
Mouthwash solutions have not been successful, nor has Kamistad cream. Inflammations keep coming back.
A dermatologist mentioned that it might be a geographic tongue?
My general practitioner tried treating it with herpes tablets, but without success.
Allergy test came back negative.
Vitamin test (folic acid, B12, and iron) was also done.
Dear questioner,
Has a swab been taken? It could be a fungal infection ... even if none is detectable, a trial therapy with an antifungal agent (Nystatingel or Amphomoron lozenges) would be worth a try. A geographic tongue essentially describes the phenomenon that the tongue looks like a map, but it has no pathological significance and should not burn.
If antifungal therapy is not effective, I would recommend a biopsy, which can be done under local anesthesia (similar to at the dentist).
