Stopped smoking - and now???

Hello.
I am 35 years old and I quit smoking 22 days ago. Two days after I quit smoking, I constantly felt a lump in my throat, stabbing in my lungs (always in different areas), and a very strange feeling when swallowing. I switched to an e-cigarette with nicotine.
I reduced the amount of nicotine every 3 days.
Now I am terribly afraid of having lung cancer, throat cancer, and esophageal cancer.
Is my concern justified?
I have already seen my GP and he said I should just wait and if it doesn't go away, come back in three weeks.

Good day, I am happy to help you further.

How long have you been smoking? And how many cigarettes did you smoke on average per day?

Kind regards,

Dr. K. Hamann
