Brief whistling in the ear.

Hello,
Lately, I have been experiencing a whistling sound in one ear, and at the same time, I also hear muffled sounds. This lasts for a few seconds and then goes away on its own, and my hearing returns to normal. I have had this happen many times before, but it has been happening more frequently lately. At the moment, I do not feel dizzy. However, I am extremely worried that this could be a sign of Meniere's disease. Can you reassure me? I also have issues with my cervical spine and severe tension in my neck and shoulders.
Dear questioner,
A pure noise in the ear is mostly a psychosomatic phenomenon, it occurs in states of overload, as the saying goes "I have a lot on my plate". As long as it keeps disappearing, don't panic, take it as a warning sign from your body that it's just a bit too much and take a step back. Meniere's disease is the simultaneous occurrence of ear noise, dizziness, and hearing loss, so you shouldn't be worried.
Still, have an ENT doctor take a look at it to rule out rare organic causes of the ear noise. As another doctor once told me, "Fear is not a good advisor", get yourself checked out, then you'll know for sure that nothing serious is going on.
Get well soon,
C. Welsch
