Cramps pain etc.
I am describing my problem.
At the beginning of 2020, I started exercising, and over time more was possible again, so I went back to boxing full force after a 5-year break. I lost about 30 kg through changes in diet during that time, but always paid attention to a good balance of minerals and vitamins.
Then in September, I injured my shoulder and had to take a break. This led to a standstill for a while. In December, I had to quarantine and had vacation, basically just staying at home. I had almost no movement since I was in quarantine for 3 weeks.
After the quarantine was over, I went for a nice walk for about an hour. The next day, I started feeling a small stabbing or pulling sensation in my calf while walking, which quickly went away, but happened often.
Then I started experiencing very strong calf pain, thinking that maybe I had overexerted my legs after such a long time. Unfortunately, it did not get better. Pulling and slight cramping in the back of my thigh also started. My calves were constantly twitching and throbbing.
I went to the orthopedist who looked briefly and referred me to a neurologist. The neurologist checked the muscle with a needle, tested the nerves and muscles in the legs with electricity, and did a blood test. Except for a vitamin D deficiency, nothing was found.
I went to the emergency room again for various tests, including blood tests and vascular surgery on my legs. Veins and arteries were checked, but nothing was found.
The rheumatologist checked all blood values, but nothing indicated anything. Myositis was ruled out.
My primary care physician doesn't know what else to do.
I have been taking vitamin D, pregabalin, and magnesium since then.
It seemed to be getting better. But as soon as I exert myself, mostly in a bent or downward position, or even when sitting for a long time, the pain starts all over again.
I can't walk far because everything is stiff and painful. I can't work at all.
Perhaps someone has another idea.
I will try to get more answers from the orthopedist again. Maybe there is something wrong with my spine or sciatic nerve that was not recognized.
