prostate

I am 61 years old and healthy apart from high blood pressure. During my last appointment, my general practitioner recommended that I undergo a prostate cancer screening. He wants to take a blood sample to determine my PSA level. However, I have to pay for this myself. Is such a screening worth it?
Good evening,
even if you hear different opinions elsewhere:
The PSA value is the only tumor marker that can actually indicate a primary change. Therefore:
Determining the value is obligatory, the consequence must be formed from follow-up examinations and a quotient of two different values.
Of course, one must consider the clinic, i.e. the physical examination. My recommendation:
Have a preventive examination once a year, even if you have to pay for it. Based on the results, the further procedure can then be determined (in German: how to proceed).
