Headache when touching the eyebrow

Hello,

When I touch my left eyebrow, stroke it, or touch it with a towel, I feel a stabbing pain in my head, starting near the eyebrow and radiating to the left side. Sometimes, there is also a slight pain in the region without any touch, which could also be partially due to the wind.

I had these symptoms for a longer period (8 weeks) half a year ago, and now they have reoccurred.

What could be the cause of this?

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Good day,

This is a neuralgia, a nerve irritation in this area. It can occur "just like that", through tension or as part of an infection. Please check if small blisters appear as a sign of a herpes infection. If not, I would just wait, usually this irritation will resolve spontaneously. If it doesn't get any better, you should consult a neurologist.

Warm regards, Dr. Höllering
