Muscle twitching

I am 44 years old. Do you think it is still possible to give the all-clear?

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

If you only have these twitches, but no other symptoms, no clumsiness, no weakness in the hand muscles, no decrease in strength, ALS is extremely unlikely.

Fasciculations, on the other hand, are very common and can also occur due to calcium deficiency or general tension or overwork. If you are anxious, this anxiety alone can cause them.

You can try Lasea, which is available over the counter and visibly reduces tension and also works against anxiety.

I see no reason to believe that you have ALS. However, I would still recommend seeing a general practitioner to find other causes for your twitches.

Warm regards, Dr. Höllering
