CT paranasal sinuses

Hello,
I had a CT scan for my sinuses. The report now states as the last point enlarged cerebrospinal fluid spaces with suspicion of advanced brain atrophy, frontal falx calcification, recommend MRI for further evaluation - what does the result mean? I actually have no signs that anything is wrong.
Good day,
Unfortunately, you did not mention your age. Some loss of brain cells (brain atrophy) is normal as one gets older, but if it is more extensive, one would like to see if the entire brain is affected. Since the cisterns where the cerebrospinal fluid is stored also appear enlarged, excessive pressure here can damage the brain. Therefore, we will need to investigate whether anything is triggering this suspected pressure.
A falx calcification is a harmless change in the membrane between the two halves of the brain.
However, an MRI is necessary due to the other findings, even if you are asymptomatic.
Warm regards,
Dr. Gehring
