Where does the HB waste come from?

Hello,

I have a question. My father is in the hospital because he has pneumonia. He has been receiving intravenous antibiotics for 6 days, but still has a fever. His CRP is slowly improving, and his leukocytes are at 12, something. What personally worries me is that his hemoglobin was 14.6 on admission, and now it is 13.6. The doctors in the hospital do not find this to be so serious. However, I am already wondering where the blood is disappearing to. The platelets are also decreasing, but he is receiving Clexane.
X-ray and CT of the thorax show only the pneumonia. Should I be worried about the hemoglobin? I am thinking, for example, of a tumor.
Best regards,
K.E.

Dear inquirer, a slight decrease in Hb can be solely caused by the infection. Tumors lead to chronic anemia, not acute. Do not worry. Do you have any questions? Regards, c.welsch
