No, I don't smoke. The saliva also often looks completely normal.
Best regards

Hello,
this blood thread in the saliva is a condition called hemoptysis. In most cases, it is caused by inflammation of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, leading to bleeding when coughing, which is usually harmless.
Especially since your last lung image was not long ago and was inconspicuous, I do not suspect a malignant process.
Please do not further irritate your respiratory tract by clearing your throat and coughing forcefully to assess mucus. It leads to nothing, except that the small previously bleeding vessel starts bleeding again. (It's like with a leg wound, you shouldn't scratch it either).
ok, if you have any further questions, I am happy to help you here. Inquiries are free of charge.
All the best and speedy recovery!
Kind regards,
Dr. K. Hamann
