Very low blood pressure

Hello, I am 24 years old and have a moderate to severe mitral valve insufficiency and an AVNRT (both are monitored semi-annually). I am aware that I suffer from low blood pressure (usually around 110/65/70) and have not fainted so far, but occasionally experience dizziness and tiredness/lethargy. Because of this, I have been measuring my blood pressure more frequently over the past 3 days. The first measurement was 102/50 with a pulse of 85. This morning it was 103/56 with a pulse of 71, and this afternoon it was 99/66 with a pulse of 73. Besides the aforementioned symptoms, I have no other complaints. Is this dangerous, should I be worried? What can I do besides consuming salty foods? Thank you very much. Sincerely

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Good day,

This is not dangerous, that is still a normal blood pressure. It could be that you have not been drinking enough, I would make sure to drink two liters a day.

Furthermore, endurance sports, Kneipp treatments and alternating showers can help. If you can handle sauna, that also strengthens the circulation.

I wish you all the best!

Warm regards, Dr. Gehring
