tension

Hello!

I have been suffering from an anxiety disorder and depression for a few months now according to my doctor - I am currently taking 20mg of Paroxetine and this is being increased to 30mg now.

I would like to hear your opinion. I suffer from constant tension that varies in intensity. Most of the time, I am so tense that even small things overwhelm me and irritate me a lot, for example, unloading the dishwasher. I often find myself grinding my teeth and feeling physically tense, with anxiety and physical symptoms sometimes added on top. I also have the feeling that I can't continue working and have to stop because I feel like I can't take it anymore. Could this really be caused by an anxiety disorder/depression?

What do you think this condition is and does the medication fit? I am afraid of having a psychosis or something similar.

Thank you for your response.

Dear inquirer,

From a distance, this is not an easy question to answer, as these symptoms can occur both with anxiety disorders and as side effects of Paroxetine. If the symptoms occurred shortly after increasing Paroxetine, this would be clear. It may also be helpful to combine the medication with something slightly sedating until Paroxetine reaches the correct dosage. Please discuss your concerns with your therapist.
