Reflux and its consequences

Dear Sir or Madam,
I, 37, have been struggling with reflux and esophagitis in recent years. I have now changed my diet and will soon have a gastroscopy.
Of course, I am afraid of Barrett's syndrome and cancer. Do I already have a high risk of developing these diseases at a young age?
Good day,
One must suffer from severe reflux for many years to develop Barrett's syndrome, and then many more years to develop Barrett's carcinoma. 3000 people in Germany get this every year, and we have 80 million inhabitants. Also, you would be very young for that.
I would be completely unconcerned!
Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
