Intestinal loop/colonoscopy

Hello,
is it sufficient to only perform an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy when dealing with a bowel loop? The colon cannot be fully examined this way!
Thank you in advance!

Dr. med. Kathrin Hamann

Good day,

During a colonoscopy, the entire colon (50-80cm) is examined, as well as the stomach and the subsequent duodenum. The small intestine remains unobserved, as it is simply too long at 3-4m. However, if there is a problem there, the so-called capsule endoscopy can uncover it.
May I ask what problem you are experiencing?
Do the information provided suffice?
I am happy to help further.

Kind regards,
Dr. K. Hamann
