Bronchitis

Dear experts,
since my childhood I have been suffering from bronchitis. I have had a rescue spray for emergencies when I have trouble breathing for a long time, but I rarely needed it. However, in the last few months it has gotten worse and I now have Berotec N 100 in my car, at the office, and in my sports bag because I have difficulty breathing daily. I feel like I am breathing in, but the air doesn't fully come out of my lungs, which is very uncomfortable. In the mornings I have a lot of phlegm and I don't feel well at times.
I have to mention that I smoke a lot and I am determined to quit, but I just can't seem to do it. I have tried hypnosis and many other methods, but nothing has worked. Can you give me a tip on how to stop this craving? Is there any medication that can help? Something needs to happen soon, these breathing problems are really worrying me and constantly using Berotec is not normal anymore.
Best regards.

Good morning,

It is already clear to you that you now need to see a pulmonologist in order to be properly medicated. It seems like it is more than just bronchitis at this point. Please have your diagnosis explained to you in detail so you know what will happen if you don't quit smoking immediately.

Here are some tips for you:
1. Do it like the anonymous alcoholics. Don't set the goal of never smoking again "for the rest of your life" because the goal is so big that you mentally give up before you even start. Instead, set the goal for TODAY. Promise yourself to only smoke after breakfast. When the time comes, CONGRATULATE yourself for making it until after breakfast and ask yourself if you could go another hour without smoking. After that hour, CONGRATULATE yourself again and ask, etc. This way, you can reach your goal in small steps and the goal is simply "no cigarettes today". If you can achieve that every day, then you've succeeded.
2. The following course is very successful, available as a book, DVD, and online course: http://www.amazon.de/Nichtraucher-5-Stunden-2-DVDs/dp/B000LC46P2
3. Another option with good chances of success is Champix, a pill that suppresses the desire to smoke.

Good luck and all the best.
