PAP 2g

Eight years ago, I had a conization due to a PAP result of 4a. Everything was removed successfully. I received the vaccination. Since then, everything has been good, always PAP 1. Now I have PAP 2g, could it be that a precancerous condition is developing again and what happens if the PAP test next time is 2 or worse?
Are there already cancer cells or abnormal cells present at PAP 2?
Good day,
The PAP classification only refers to the extent of cell changes. In the lower classes, such as IIg, the cells are minimally or slightly altered, which does not correspond to a precancerous stage.
The smear test should be repeated after a few months to a year. Since you already had PAP IV, I would recommend a follow-up in 3 months. If it is again a IIe smear test, another follow-up will be scheduled. For IV, anti-inflammatory treatment may be necessary and then closely monitored, while for V, surgery may unfortunately be required.
But that is certainly not expected!
I wish you all the best.
Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
