Health card and more

Hello, I work as a journalist in the field of medicine and I have the following technical question for you (I would like to use your answer as a quote).
There is now the app Vivy, which is supposed to represent functions of the health card / patient record. 16 health insurance companies are involved. http://www.spiegel.de/gesundheit/diagnose/vivy-krankenkassen-starten-app-fuer-millionen-versicherte-a-1228581.html
https://www.vivy.com
My questions to you: How do you evaluate (please provide short explanations):
- How do you rate Vivy? Do you think the tool is useful?
- Do you see advantages for the practice through this?
- Have there been any inquiries from patients?
Thank you very much. Best regards!
Good morning,
I have looked at and downloaded Vivy and I actually find it useful. The question of data security was critical for me; there are no more sensitive data than health data, and they must be adequately protected. It is said that the supporting health insurance companies do not have access to it, and I only hope that this is true. Also, one should be very careful not to get their phone hacked or leave it lying around with stored passwords.
What I like in principle is the medication plan with interaction alerts. But we will have to see if these "nag": Sometimes as a doctor, one has to tolerate certain interactions, and it may be that this results in endless need for discussion.
I find the reminders for medication intake, vaccinations, and check-ups helpful. Also, the fact that one can upload their reports, but: We then have to print out everything we only have electronically for scanning again! These costs would have to be passed on to the patients. We already give reports that we have scanned back to the patients. It should then be established that patients request the same, if their doctors do not do it, so that we do not have to process masses of paper again.
I haven't had any patient inquiries myself yet. I find the tool helpful for patients, but for doctors, it means more work. But it is for a good cause :-)
Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
