CANCER YES OR NO WHAT TO DO?
Dear Doctor,
For the past 2 years, I have had a pretty bad blood count and none of my primary care doctors seem to want to help, which seems very suspicious to me. More and more issues are arising, but no progress is being made.
I have now reached a point where I am really scared because the question of a tumor/cancer is looming.
I had another blood test 2 days ago, as I have been doing for the past 2.5 years, to monitor how the values are changing... of course, only for the worse.
Known conditions:
HPV - Genital warts
Herpes Simplex Virus
Diffuse and nodular goiter
After pleading and begging, an ultrasound of the organs was once again performed (see attached images).
Findings:
Small-part ultrasound of the soft tissues of the neck
To the right, in the area of a small palpable resistance nuchal, there is a non-suspicious oval lymph node measuring 16mm.
Along the main vessels and on both sides of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, there are several moderately hypoechoic oval lymph nodes, measuring up to 2.5 x 0.5 cm, standing in chains.
The thyroid lobes are slightly enlarged with a total volume of 30 cm³, with some small cysts and nodules typical of adenomas.
The salivary glands are inconspicuous.
Result: Known diffuse and nodular goiter
Several lymph nodes, which appear to be reactive, in the soft tissues of the neck on both sides. A corresponding laboratory investigation (CRP? EBV serology?) is requested.
Abdominal ultrasound: Normal ultrasound findings of the organs...
When I asked my doctor what we should do now, she just said she will order testing for Epstein Barr Virus... and that's it. My question about whether there could be a tumor or cancer in my body was not even acknowledged.
QUESTION: PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT I CAN/SHOULD DO TO ADDRESS THESE ISSUES SO THAT I DON'T SUDDENLY RECEIVE THE DIAGNOSIS "YOU HAVE A TUMOR/CANCER"... IF IT'S NOT ALREADY TOO LATE?!
DO THESE RESULTS INDICATE CANCER TUMORS?
WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?
Because one thing is clear, my doctor just said we wait... and I think waiting for 2 years has been long enough.
Please review the documents carefully and hopefully, for once in my life, a doctor can give me a clear answer and possibly even provide reassurance regarding the lymph nodes, and point me in a direction.
