Skin rash Itching Dry skin

Good day, I have been having skin problems for 3-4 weeks. I was in the USA and since then I have had this issue. I suspect a shower gel that I used, at least I think I got it afterwards. (I have not been using it since my return). I immediately treated it with a Claritin tablet upon my return, assuming it was an allergic reaction, and with a cream from the pharmacy (forgot the name). 3 days later it was gone - or so I thought, at least I didn't have any itching and those spots (from the rash) were gone. But now I suddenly got it again and it is getting worse, but I also notice that my skin is very dry, could it be related? Yesterday I had a steam bath, was in a salt bath and Hamam - somehow it has gotten worse today. What can I do? Thank you in advance.

Good morning,
please excuse the late reply.
Dry skin tends to itch and have excessive reactions, especially in winter. Therefore, appropriate skincare is recommended. Use shower oil instead of shower gel and a fatty cream like Linola instead of lotion. Gels and lotions further dry out the skin.
You may have used a cortisone cream, which would help you again now - for example, hydrocortisone cream from the pharmacy. However, after stopping, the problem may reoccur - which would fit your description. In that case, it helps to "taper off" the treatment, meaning to continue treating until it is gone, but then not stop immediately, instead dilute the cortisone cream with a fatty cream for two more days, then take a day off, a day of diluted cream, and then stop.
I hope this helps you. Otherwise, you may need to have it looked at locally.
All the best
