Scarring even with small scratches

Hello,
I have a problem, I have gotten scars multiple times through small scratches on my hand. They were very superficial scratches and I don't understand why they scarred.
I usually apply Fucicort to the scratches just to be safe. Does that help?
I have read that diet can play a role. Is that such a big factor? Or what else could it be?
What should I do to prevent scarring in a small wound? Creams? Bandages? Leave the wound open? Wash with soap?

Hello,
Applying Fucicort to an open wound is not such a good idea, as cortisone should not be used on open wounds. The way wounds heal is mostly determined by genetics.
Regarding nutrition, a vitamin deficiency could affect wound healing - but there is no need to follow any specific dietary guidelines.
If you are a smoker, this could be a reason for slower wound healing compared to non-smokers.
A common problem is removing scabs too early. It is important not to pick at the scab, but rather let it fall off on its own or gently remove it with fatty creams.
If you would like, you can upload photos of former craters, which may help provide more information.
Best regards and get well soon,
