Rash in the genital area

Dear Sir or Madam,

I [male, 46 years old] have been experiencing significant skin problems in the genital area [scrotum] for several months now. I was a Lyme disease patient [for 10 years] and as a result had to take a lot of antibiotics. I have also been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes for the past 4 months.

The skin problems manifest as:
- severe itching
- skin on the scrotum feels partially like leather - thick, dry
- skin appears lighter in large areas
- skin looks like large scales

I have already tried using ointments like Ebenol, but they only provide temporary relief. Antifungal creams have also been unsuccessful.

At the moment, I am not ready to see a doctor in person as I am very embarrassed by the problems and especially the location. I have attached a picture.

Dear inquirer, the findings could indeed correspond to papillomatosis, where the skin is infected by papillomaviruses. The warts are often stubborn and difficult to treat, you can try dye solutions, for example, to dry out the findings. Please overcome your reservations and show the findings to a dermatologist and urologist. Do you have any questions? Get well soon. C. Welsch
