Ask a doctor on the topic of Dermatology

Causes, consequences, treatment, and prevention of eczematized mycosis.

Dear Sir or Madam,

My question is: What are the causes of an eczematized mycosis on the skin? What happens in the worst case scenario if I leave an eczematized mycosis on my buttock (i.e. on the skin) untreated? How can this be best treated, and what are, in your opinion, sensible and promising healing and therapy measures (if you can recommend specific medical products or medications, please provide the exact name of the product)? And what can I do and consider to prevent such a recurrence of mycosis in the future?

A more detailed response, extending beyond, for example, three lines, would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

Hello,
The cause of a mycosis is always a decreased skin defense, which allows a fungal infection to spread. Superinfection occurs when bacteria take advantage of the already compromised skin. If left untreated, the mycosis can spread to other parts of the body and the superinfection can lead to an ulcer that may leave scars.
Therefore, treatment should be sought in any case. A good remedy is Decoderm tri, which not only treats the fungus but also the bacteria. If that is not enough, the pathogens should be determined with a swab.
Prevention can be done with appropriate hygiene, not too much and not too little; use soap once daily. Please do not scratch, rule out diabetes, and, if you wish, take a zinc tablet daily.
All the best!
