Hair growth in children

Our daughter's hair grows extremely slowly. She will soon be 6 and has slightly longer hair at the back, but no bangs at the front yet. She wishes for long hair. Her hair has never been cut. The pediatrician advised us to wait. However, we are slowly becoming impatient. What can we do?
Dear inquirer, a question that is certainly not easy to answer. If the finding is indeed pronounced, laboratory diagnostics for a hormonal disorder (thyroid?) or a deficiency state (iron?) would be indicated. Personally, I have had very good experiences with the dietary supplement Biotin (coenzyme q10) in cases where nothing organic was detectable. Do you have any questions?
