cafe au lait spots
Hello, our two-year-old daughter has two cafe au lait spots on her back. Another spot on her forehead has been ruled out as a cafe au lait spot by the pediatrician. There are no other abnormalities in our daughter and there is no known case of NF1 in our family. However, we are concerned about the two cafe au lait spots and we have the following questions: 1. We have read that cafe au lait spots are almost always present from birth or develop in the first few months of life. Does this mean that the risk is already eliminated in a two-year-old? 2. What is the likelihood of more cafe au lait spots developing after the second year of life? 3. Do you see a specific risk for NF1 in our case? Thank you very much.
