Ask a tax advisor on the topic of Tax return

Respite care for the elderly in need of care is taxable income.

I would like to transfer the respite care for my 90-year-old mother to an acquaintance for several weeks. We are not related, she is just a distant acquaintance. My mother is classified in care level 2. My acquaintance feels "morally obligated", and of course I would pay her with the money I receive from the respite care from the health insurance. QUESTION: Is this amount taxable, does my acquaintance have to declare it in her tax return? This question is particularly important because my acquaintance works as a marginal employee and is always close to the income threshold for marginal employees. If she had to declare the money from the respite care as well, she would probably exceed the annual amount for marginal employees. Thank you.
