Exercise leader break exceeding

If I exceed the exercise instructor lump sum of 3000 EUR, that is, the tax-free allowance, how does it work with the amounts that I exceed? Do I just have to declare them on the tax return? Or is there another way as well? How are they taxed? Does it still make sense then?! Is there an alternative? Thank you very much

Hello,

Thank you for using ask-a-tax-expert.com. Regarding your question, I would like to provide you with the following feedback.

The part exceeding the lump sum is taxable and should also be reported in your tax return. Please enter the amounts on attachment S in line 46 accordingly (tax-free part: 3,000 EUR). The exceeding part should then be recorded in line 11. Employment-related expenses can be claimed if they exceed the tax-free portion. Otherwise, the exceeding part is subject to your personal tax rate. Since I do not know your tax rate, I can only recommend budgeting around 25%.

Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Best regards,
