poor result in the sperm analysis
Dear Sir or Madam,
My fiancé (28 years old) and I (26 years old) have a desire to have children. I stopped taking the pill 2 1/2 years ago and nothing happened.
Recently, a semen analysis was performed and we were informed of the results over the phone: there are enough sperm present (35 million) but the motility is only 10%. A second semen analysis will be conducted in 4-5 weeks. If the results are the same, we were told that artificial insemination would be the only option.
Now to my questions...
* We had a 5-day abstinence period, and while we did not have intercourse, we were close to it, meaning my fiancé was very aroused.
* The atmosphere during the semen sample collection was unusual. We thought it would be a small room with magazines or something, but it was just a treatment room with a view of the city and we could hear the nurses. We mentioned these to the doctor, but he did not address them. Could these factors have affected the results?
* What can we do to improve sperm motility? Are there any vitamins or supplements that could help?
Thank you in advance for your feedback.
