Ask a doctor on the topic of Urology

My body odor is bitter and sour.

Hello,
I'm not entirely sure if this is the right category. But a woman told me she can't stand my smell. She's not alone in that. I've noticed that some women sometimes wrinkle their noses.
I'm still quite young and generally healthy. I also notice my own smell. I think the smell during sports is normal. Sometimes, however, I smell really bitter or sour.
The woman I talked to about it said it's related to fertility. She's not a doctor. As far as I can judge, it's the sweat under the arms that sometimes smells so bitter.
Maybe it's a form of stress, it's not so bad when I'm relaxed.
Thanks and best regards.

Good day,

Fertility does not smell bad at all! On the contrary, fertile women often smell particularly attractive.

Bad body odor is often caused by diet. For example, garlic is not only exhaled through the mouth, but also through the pores of the skin. People who eat a lot of meat often smell more unpleasant than (part-time) vegetarians.

Sometimes fragrances from personal care products do not mix well with your own body odor, in that case, a change can help.

You can rebalance an over-acidic body with Basocaps capsules (available without prescription).

All the best!

Best regards, Dr. Höllering
