Complex distal radius fracture (Type IIb) with dissociation of the scapholunate ligament on the right side.
I would like to know what the radiology report means: Osteosynthetically treated radius fracture. In one plane, the plate appears to moderately exceed the joint surface. However, the screws are still in the bone. There is significant step formation of the individual fragments. Overall, the alignment is appropriate.
If the plate exceeds the joint surface, there may be problems as the plate is usually removed after about 9-12 months. And how do I understand step formation?
