Iodine stain on the face

Hello,
I wanted to get rid of a new lovely pimple on my face as quickly as possible the night before last, so I placed a cotton pad soaked in liquid iodine on the affected area and pressed down quite hard for about 5 minutes. I shouldn't have done that. The pimple is gone but now I have a huge dark, slightly reddish-brown spot in that place and it won't go away. I assume it's a iodine burn. I can't go to work like this and it looks bad in general. Will this spot go away at all? What can I do to get rid of it as quickly as possible? It looks terrible.
Best regards
Dear inquirer,
Of course, I cannot see over the internet if bruises have formed under the skin due to strong pressure in addition to the brown/yellow discoloration of the skin. But to your first question, all of this will go away. However, this can take 4-6 days, as the liquid PVP penetrates into the top layers of the skin and the discoloration will only disappear with the formation and shedding of these colored layers.
Until then, there is nothing you can do but wait.
P.S.: There are also colorless iodine-based disinfectants.
With best regards, R. Berg
