Is it likely to be gout or heel spur?

Hello,
I have been experiencing pain in my heel over the past few days, it hurt a lot when I pressed on it. Now the pain is almost gone, thanks to Diclofenac 150mg. However, suddenly the ankle on my right foot is swollen and red. I have previously suffered from gout and heel spurs. Do I need to be worried about a thrombosis now? Or is gout or heel spurs more likely? I found 20 tablets of AMOXI 1000 and will now take one twice a day. Please advise.
Good morning,
A swollen, red ankle is more likely to indicate inflammation rather than thrombosis.
Gout occurs much more frequently in the big toe than in the ankle, so I would lean towards excluding both.
Based on your description, inflammation in the ankle is likely. It is difficult to determine the exact cause from a distance.
Most likely, Diclo would help you at this point.
An antibiotic only makes sense if it is a bacterial infection. This would be the case, for example, if it is cellulitis.
You have the opportunity today to have your foot examined. To find out which doctor near you could do this, call 116 117.
Is everything clear? If not, please ask for clarification.
Best regards,
Dr. Schaaf
