What to do after a coiled aneurysm
Dear doctors,
On January 30, 2011, I had a brain hemorrhage due to a ruptured aneurysm. This happened during intercourse with my wife.
I am currently in rehabilitation and have some questions. Since I cannot get a detailed answer from the local doctors to my questions and am always dismissed with the statement "do not strain yourself", I am now turning to you:
1. What does "do not strain yourself" mean? It is said that I should not lift heavy objects, but what is considered heavy?
2. Gardening: Can I do gardening, and if so, what activities should I avoid?
3. Sports: What sports am I allowed to do? I enjoy playing soccer, going to the gym, and jogging - what am I allowed to do? What should I avoid? Are there any restrictions?
4. Sex: Since my wife witnessed firsthand when the aneurysm ruptured, the question now arises whether we are allowed to have sex again. Once again, my question was answered with "without exertion". However, this does not alleviate my wife's fear in this case.
5. Driving: The reaction and concentration tests with the psychologist were good. When am I allowed to drive again?
I hope you can help me with these questions.
Sincerely,
Michael
