To stop the diarrhea that I keep having, what do you recommend in the acute situation: Imodium 1 capsule after each loose stool or Perenterol forte, the same, or any other medication?
Good day, I am happy to help you further.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to answer this so easily, as there are various causes for diarrhea. Imodium affects intestinal activity, making it sluggish and can therefore hinder diarrhea.
Perenterol strengthens the intestinal flora, especially useful during infections.
However, it is often advisable to get rid of the infected stool as much as possible in cases of intestinal infections, so that no toxins formed by the germs penetrate into the body. In this case, Imodium would not be advisable.
Furthermore, recurrent diarrhea can indicate a chronic inflammatory bowel disease and should be clarified by an internist (gastroenterologist). A targeted treatment would be advisable to prevent any secondary diseases from forming (such as fistula formation).
Please have it checked out.
In any case, drink plenty of fluids, as a lot of liquid and electrolytes are lost during diarrhea.
Applying heat to the abdomen can relieve possible abdominal pain and relax the abdominal wall.
Do you have any questions about this? I am happy to help you further.
All the best and a speedy recovery!
