Prominent ECG

Is this a pathological ECG? Is there an S1 Q3? Is a cardiological consultation necessary? Symptoms include mild tightness in breathing that does not worsen with exertion.

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Hello,

I do not see it, S1 is clearly too little changed for that, and the symptoms do not fit. S1q3 arises from right heart strain, e.g. after a pulmonary embolism, and all possible causes in the lungs would worsen with exertion. Also, the heart axis would shift to the right, which is not the case in your normal EKG.

Therefore, in my opinion, you do not need a cardiologist, but an ultrasound of the thyroid gland.

All the best!

Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
