Overdosing Salofalk Granu-Stix

Hello, today I accidentally overdosed on my Salofalk granu-stix. I was supposed to take 3g in the morning and 1.5g in the evening. However, I accidentally took 3g in the morning, then 1.5g in the evening, and another 1.5g an hour later. So, I took a total of 6g of Mesalazine. When I realized this, about 1-2 minutes later, I immediately vomited. Have I overdosed now? Is it dangerous and will something bad happen now?

Poisoning from mesalazine is very rare. In individual cases, up to 8g can be administered, so you are not in a dosage range where poisoning symptoms would be expected. Possible symptoms would be mild gastrointestinal complaints, dizziness, or headaches. However, mesalazine is quickly excreted through the kidneys, so if you have not had any problems by tomorrow morning, nothing more should occur (assuming your kidneys are healthy).
