Context: Colonoscopy/Injection/Swelling in the abdomen
Hello, on 17.2.11 I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy. The gastroscopy revealed gastritis, which has since been cured with Omeprazole. The colonoscopy had to be aborted shortly afterwards because the colon was not clean enough. Two weeks after the procedures, I developed a very painful disc protrusion (confirmed by MRI). My orthopedist then gave me an injection on the left side of my back, slightly above the buttocks. The pain subsided after about 3 hours. However, I seemed to have a fever (red face) and noticed in the evening that my left abdominal side had significantly swollen. This swelling is slightly painful when pressed and is clearly visible - especially since I normally have a flat stomach. According to the ultrasound, there seems to be inflammation in that area of the colon. Now my questions are: could this inflammation be caused by the aborted procedure? Can it take 2 weeks to show symptoms in this way? Or could the injection have triggered or paralyzed something? The area from my back to the swollen spot on my abdomen has also felt slightly numb since the injection. I have already seen a gynecologist, who found nothing. I find it strange that the swelling occurred almost simultaneously with the injection. What could it be? Best regards.
