Toxoplasmosis

Hello,
I am currently at the end of the 24th week of pregnancy.
The toxoplasmosis test at the beginning of the pregnancy was negative.
I am now experiencing cold symptoms, could I have become infected?
Possibly from undercooked meat?
How dangerous would this be for the baby now?
What is the risk of getting infected?
Good morning,
You should now do a toxoplasmosis test.
Now would be a good time for it. (It should be done three times during pregnancy if the results are negative).
Cold symptoms can be signs of an infection with toxoplasmosis. The correct source is also: Not completely cooked meat.
During pregnancy, this can lead to infection and problems for the child at any time. The risk of fetal damage is higher in early pregnancy than in advanced pregnancy. In the case of a fresh infection, antibiotics must be given to significantly reduce the risk of damage.
The risk of infection is very high: Please avoid contact with cats (litter box), raw meat, sausages (mettwurst, liverwurst, salami). Wash vegetables and salads thoroughly. The risk of infection is quite high.
Wishing you all the best and a successful pregnancy. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards,
Dr. Schröter
