Period too short

I am 38 years old. According to my appointment, I got my period on Thursday but only for 1 day and it was weak. I am not pregnant, I have taken a test. No cyst either, I was at the doctor 2 weeks ago and had an ultrasound of my ovaries.

I have not been eating carbohydrates in the evening for 2 years, since March of this year I mostly only eat carbohydrates on Sundays. I have been eating a lot of eggs, turkey, chicken breast, and vegetables since March. I have lost 25 kilos in 2 years. I go to the gym 3 times a week and ride my bike 3 times a week as well. This cannot only be noticeable now.

Good evening,

You have already asked this question before and you were told that it could be a pregnancy or cysts. You have now ruled out both, although a cyst can develop quickly and ultimately not be ruled out, but still unlikely.

Your weight loss may be the cause, especially if you are now approaching the critical threshold of about 50 kilograms and/or if you should also take supplements for muscle building.

It could also simply be a harmless fluctuation.

Do you have a specific concern? What worries you so much that you are asking this question now or do you want to avoid visiting the gynecologist as much as possible?

Best regards,

Dr. Schaaf
