Varicose vein?

Hello,
I have questions about varicose veins. I have discovered a vein on my right shin. I would like to attach a photo and have it evaluated (if possible from the picture) to determine if this is already a varicose vein, or just a vein that protrudes because the bone is directly behind it. It can only be seen when I stand. It disappears when I lie down.

Then I have a lump on the calf of my other leg. I first discovered it two years ago. I showed it to my internist two years ago. She said it was okay, it could become a varicose vein. The lump has not changed since then and has never been painful. Since my calves are rather thick and have always been (even though I weigh 59 kilos), I am now afraid that the lump may be a very thick varicose vein and it is not visible properly, only the lump because there is so much tissue around it. The doctor felt it back then and said there was no need for further action. I do not have any other pain.

I am 40 years old. Non-smoker. I walk a lot. Vegetarian. No birth control pill. No medications and no illnesses.

Good morning, when it comes to the red spot on your leg, it could possibly be a vein that is not a varicose vein, especially since it is only present in certain positions. As for the bump, there could be several possibilities. It could be a vein knot or a former insect bite. In any case, there is no need to panic if it has remained unchanged for 2 years. Best regards, Dr. Bartels.
