nausea

I have another question! I drink a lot of coffee, 2 pots a day! Now I always feel so nauseous and I hardly have any appetite! Could this be caused by the coffee? Nothing was found in my blood test three weeks ago!

Dr. med. Kathrin Hamann

Hello,

yes, this nausea and loss of appetite could be caused by high coffee consumption. It could be a result of caffeine overdose or irritation of the stomach lining. Both are not visible in the blood test.
Drink plenty of still water, milk, and tea, rest your body, avoid heavy meals, too much salt, spicy, sweet, and sour foods.

Blocking stomach acid with Omeprazole or Pantoprazole is possible, but should be prescribed by your local doctor.

All the best and a quick recovery. Please do not drink so much coffee.

Kind regards,

Dr. K. Hamann
