Ask a doctor on the topic of General medicine

Hello

Hello, I have a colonoscopy next week. I'm doing okay so far but I'm very tired and can't sleep properly, and when I do sleep, I don't wake up feeling rested in the morning. I also had my blood pressure checked again today and since Saturday it has been consistently low, around 110 over 70. My normal blood pressure is around 130 over 87. My bowel movements are normal. Could the low blood pressure be related to my liver and stool? I sweat a lot and my face turns red with even a little bit of exertion. The sweat is also cold.

Dr. med. Frauke Gehring

Good evening,

When you lose a lot of fluid through sweating, your blood pressure may drop slightly. However, 110/70 is still a normal pressure and not responsible for you feeling a bit tired.

Please make sure to move enough during the day to get your circulation going and to be properly tired in the evening. If you don't move much, you will become weaker and unable to handle more efforts. Once your intestines are back in order, you should exercise.

Warm regards, Dr. Höllering
