Elevated liver and cholesterol levels in the blood.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have received these blood test results:
GOT=49; GPT=110 ++; GGT=72 +; CHOL=262 ++; TRI=209 +
- I must say that I have gained 10 kg in the last 2 years and have a BMI of 32. I have always been active in sports throughout my life and have recently started again, but I have also experienced fluctuations in weight.
However, my question is, I have been experiencing fatigue issues (I only sleep a maximum of 4.5 hours on weekdays). Could these be cholesterol-related problems? Does this have an impact on my metabolism? Since I have been intensively training in weightlifting for the past 3 weeks, it is important for me that my metabolism is actively working.
What can I actively do to address these cholesterol and elevated liver enzyme levels?
Hello,
One does not feel an elevated cholesterol level, even if it is over 400. It is not surprising that you are tired with this massive lack of sleep!
Your cholesterol does not affect your metabolism, but a high-fat diet can increase cholesterol and also promote fatty liver. You should focus on avoiding animal fats as well as alcohol as much as possible. Both will lower the levels.
If the cholesterol level does not decrease, it can also be lowered with medication. However, this is only done if there are other risk factors present such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
It goes without saying that you should not take anabolic steroids as they increase liver values, and please do not forget to do at least 30 minutes of endurance training before strength training.
Please have your liver checked with an ultrasound at some point to rule out other diseases.
I wish you all the best!
Sincerely, Dr. Gehring
