Skin fungus or inflammation

Hello,

I have been having problems with the skin on my scrotum for a while now (about 1 year). It is constantly red and itching severely.

I have already been to the dermatologist. He said it might be a fungus.
I have tried various creams (Vobymyk, Vobaderm, Canesten Extra, Multilind) without any of them solving the problem despite using them for several weeks.

I have already switched to wearing only cotton boxer shorts and using only sensitive detergent and fabric softener.

Nothing seems to help.

I have attached a picture of my skin.

I hope to find some advice here.

Best regards

Hello,

This doesn't look like a fungus to me, especially since I can see a diffuse redness but no scaling. I also thought about an intolerance; you have already made sensible changes, now the shower gel should also be fragrance-free and pH-adapted (e.g. pH-Eucerin).

For dry, irritated skin, Bepanthen cream often helps, I would recommend trying that. Please do not use products like tea tree oil, etc., which can additionally cause allergies. However, adding a dash of olive oil to bathwater is allowed.

All the best!

Warm regards, Dr. Höllering
