Ask a tax advisor on the topic of Income tax return

Tax law, private income

I am an employee and have the verbal permission of my employer to dispose of the scrap metal generated at the construction sites. Since I intend to file a tax return for this year, I would like to know if the proceeds from these scrap sales are in any way taxable. In 2010, I earned approximately 2000 euros in this way. Furthermore, I have to provide my name, address, and license plate number (company vehicle, as I drive directly from the construction site to the scrapyard) each time I visit the scrapyard.
My data and sales are therefore recorded and could be available to the tax office upon request. How should I proceed with my tax return and do I have an obligation to prove the origin of the scrap and the exact amount of proceeds?

Thank you in advance.

Good morning,

Thank you for your inquiry.
Of course, these earnings, which come to you personally, must be declared in your income tax return.
In return, however, you can deduct all expenses related to your activity as operating expenses.
