Master BaföG can be deducted from taxes.

Hello,
I applied for Master's BaföG last year and received the benefits as well. The rest is covered by KfW. Study costs amount to 3690 €. I have already filed my tax return with my tax advisor. The tax assessment notice also came in May. I presented my tax advisor with the documents from KfW, the BaföG office, and the invoice from the course provider. He said that it is not possible to include them. However, they were not submitted. The invoice is from 2014. Now the question is, can I retrospectively claim it for tax purposes? Since the amount has been paid, but the tax return for 2014 has already been filed.
Dear questioner,
In the context of an initial consultation and your fee payment, in accordance with the regulations of this forum, I would like to answer your question regarding German taxes.
As far as I understand you, a subsequent claim is probably not possible.
It is important to clarify if there are any possibilities for changes in the tax assessment. This cannot be answered with certainty without examining the assessment.
You should contact your tax advisor and also clarify how this alleged misjudgment came about. If your tax advisor is indeed a tax advisor, he will also be liable for any damage caused by him.
If the colleague's response is not satisfactory for you, you have the option to seek assistance from the relevant tax advisor chamber.
If the person in question is not a tax advisor appointed by the tax advisor chamber, the chamber should also assist you. In this case, there would probably be an unauthorized assistance given.
I hope your questions are answered to the extent possible.
Best regards,
Tobias Heinrich
