Wood delivery
June 13, 2009 | 10,00 EUR | answered by Dr. Lars Nozar
Hello,
I ordered 6 cubic meters of ready-to-burn beech wood (25 cm logs) from a wood dealer.
The delivery went smoothly. Now I have neatly stacked the wood in the cellar.
With a depth of 1 meter and a height of 1 meter, I should now come to a length of 6 meters.
That is my understanding of a cubic meter.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be just over 4 meters.
The dealer now claims that this is also correct.
In my opinion (and research on the internet), the delivered quantity only corresponds to 6 loose cubic meters and not cubic meters as promised by the dealer.
The dealer remains stubbornly on his position.
Who is right now?
Hello, your research is correct. If you have ordered cubic meters, you are also entitled to delivery of cubic meters. But what do you want to do now? I assume from your question that you have already reported the incorrect amount. Please now give the supplier a deadline of 10 working days (please specify the exact date) to deliver the remaining amount. Also inform him that if he does not deliver, you will purchase the difference elsewhere and liquidate any additional costs with him. Maybe this will prompt him to make the additional delivery. Or do you need more than the six cubic meters in total? Perhaps you actually need 10 cubic meters, and order these. After delivery, you could then make the "offsetting" with your claim from the incorrect delivery in an informal way. I hope I have been able to help you. Best regards to the evening.
